Henry St Leger
journalist, games reviewer, UX writer
Hi! I’m Hen – and I work with words. They’re stubborn little things, but I’ve done my best to get a handle on them as a technology reporter, games critic, copywriter, SEO journalist, and UX writer.
Journalism
I report on technology, games, science and mental health. I’ve written for The Independent, The Times, NBC News, Healthline, TechRadar, GamesRadar, Edge, iMore, Space.com, Live Science, Metro, and The Evening Standard. You may have also heard me talking about the future of technology on BBC World News or Channel News Asia.I work largely as a freelance contributor, and am available to review, test, write, think, edit, criticize, complain and opine on everything from VR headsets to antidepressants. Try me.
Copywriting / UX
As a copywriter, I help companies communicate with their users, customers, and collaborators – whether writing blog posts, overhauling website pages, working on marketing materials, or creating tone of voice.I also work as a User Experience / UX writer for social media apps and digital startups, ensuring every button, banner, menu and pop-up is as captivating and intuitive as possible for the user. I've worked as a UX consultant for the B2B marketplace Rooser, and have years of experience testing user interfaces in my time as a technology journalist. I'm actively looking for more UX work, so please do reach out if you're in need of assistance.
Game reviews
I've covered games extensively in my time as a journalist, reviewing AAA titles such as Elden Ring and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet for The Times; The Talos Principle 2 and Disco Elysium: The Final Cut for Edge magazine; and analysing the mechanics of Dungeons & Dragons' upcoming new edition for Dicebreaker. I have a deep love of puzzle games, narrative RPGs, deck-builders, roguelites, and anything that involves rolling dice – and am currently available for mock reviews and game consultations.
